Natural Lip Filler FAQs: Phoenix & Scottsdale

Everything you need to know before your first appointment — or your next one.

What is lip filler made of and is it safe?
Lip filler at Alani Skin MD uses hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that gives skin moisture and volume by drawing water molecules to the skin’s surface. It’s one of the most well-studied injectable substances in aesthetics and is fully reversible with Hylenex if needed.
Natural is the standard at Alani Skin MD. Providers work from your unique lip shape and facial structure to create balanced, proportionate results. The most common feedback from patients is that friends notice they look great, not that they’ve had filler.
A lip flip uses Botox to relax the muscles around the upper lip, causing it to curl slightly upward, giving the appearance of a fuller lip without adding volume. Lip fillers involve injecting hyaluronic acid-based substances to add volume and shape to the lips.
Absolutely. Injectable fillers can also be used to restore age-related volume loss and smooth fine lines around the chin and mouth.
Less than most people think. The frequency of lip filler treatments and volume needed varies depending on individual factors such as the type of filler used, your body’s metabolism, and your desired results. Many first-time patients at Alani start with a half syringe to ease into the look before committing to more. Your provider will walk you through realistic expectations during your consultation.
